As far as I can see, the study was really well carried out and analyzed. But I do find it inexplicable that such a huge effort was made to test such unpromising vaccine candidates. I still think that the partial protection observed in the trial was probably due to innate responses to the vector, and that the vaccine failed to induce a durable, protective HIV-specific immune response.
